Robert and I were married in 1980. God blessed us with two children, Robert Eric and Felicia Ginae, and our son-in-law, Roy Garza; weβre proud that they are all teachers. Weβre also so grateful for our two grandchildren, Roy Anakin and Victoria Rose, who are the joy of our lives and keep us active and young. We enjoy traveling, camping, games, eating, yes, weβre foodies, and spending time with family and friends.
From Kingβs Compassionβs inception, there has been much to do and learn. My professional background was working in management, and I had the great opportunity to pioneer new operations during my 22 years with Nationwide Insurance, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Little did I know that God would call Robert and me to start a non-profit organization for which I only had volunteer experience. With a heart to serve and determination to answer the call, I retired early to use my experiences, skills, and abilities to launch Kingβs Compassion.
I understand the importance of caring for the elderly. I helped care for my mother for eight years after my father passed away unexpectedly, until the day she, too, went to be with the Lord at the age of 97. It wasnβt easy, but it was my honor to care for her. It breaks my heart that so much of our elderly population tends to be overlooked and forgotten, especially with our busy and fast-paced lives. Their hard work, strength, and wisdom laid a solid foundation for us to build on. They did all of this to give a good life to us, and itβs our turn to do what we can to provide a good life for them. God wants them to know that He has not forgotten them or abandoned them but wants to meet their every need, and He wants this time in their life to be the best. I love what I get to do, and I thank God for entrusting me to demonstrate and represent His love to them.
